7 Ayurvedic tips from my yoga teacher / guru Allison to deal with the summer heat
- Drink lot's of water to help the body acclimatize to the eat
- Drink mint tea
- Exercise in early morning
- Stay out of midday sun. If outside during the height of a hot day, wear a hat to prevent overheating
- Eat fruits especially watermelons and cantaloupes in the morning to help the nervous system
- Practice Sitali Pranayama and restorative postures which support inner cooling
- End your yoga routine with Vipariti Karani (legs up the wall posture) to help blood flow and organ cooling
