The Return Of The Flare Leg

It’s the time of the year when people start to look to the new year's trends and ponder about the larger direction of clothing. With questions such as are skinny jeans still in fashion becoming increasingly frequent. And the short answer is: yes, skinny jeans are still in fashion - they're going nowhere, at least in terms of trends. Spring/summer 2011 trends are all about all about flared, wide jeans and flared trousers for both men and women. Skinny jeans have become so common, such a staple in most everyone's wardrobe, that people are seeking an alternative. Forget the low waist pants were you can’t bend down or sit without plumbers crack. 1970s fashion is a major influence in the trends across 2011.
Acne have nailed the men's look as a part of their spring / summer 2011 collection, with their interpretations of men's flared jeans pictured above

Ladie rules for flared pants
• a hem that is at least as wide as your foot - the men's hem that you can see on the pictures above doesn't apply to the women's interpretation of the trend
• loose at the knee - I've already see some takes on the trend where the jeans are cut very slim down the thigh and the knee and then flare out from below the knee cap. This is a 1990s interpretation of flares and not the style that's on trend in 2011

Footwear Part 1

Every season i get new footwear. You can tell a lot about a person from what they have on their feet. To clarify a certain issue with a certain someone (Paul), I own 28 pairs of shoes/boots. No it's not an addiction. I just have shoes for every occasion. There is nothing more unattractive on a woman or a man than ugly or dirty or broken footwear, or with the same shoes every day.

While I'm on the subject i find ballerina flats for woman so ugly. Can we move on from this trend that's been over since 2006???

These are my new Filippa K boots which i got because of the lovely Emma. You have no idea how happy i was when i saw them in the warehouse.

Thank you Emma you are the best!!!

Forzza Azzurri

The World cup has been underway for a couple of days now and for the very first time the Mundial is in Africa.

The planets greatest sport and most prestigious trophy! The world is watching to see who will take home the cup. Will it be Argentina? Brazil? Spain? Will 4 time champions ( 1934, 1938 , 1982, 2006) Italy will have to ferociously defend their tittle.
North Americans don't understand footbal and don;t understand the craziness and patriotic ways of the world cup. I can only say that we might make a lot of noise and take over streets but we don't burn down public property in the process.....
I love the world cup! Its such a great event, bringing people from all over the world to compete on who will be the best at the worlds greatest sport.

Soccer god and coach for Argentina; Diego Maradona said that if his country wins he will run naked through Buenos Aires.

Good luck to the Italian boys i will be cheering on at every game!

Margherita Missoni

Every now and then an "It" girl comes along. Let them be heiress, models or singers. In the case of Carla Bruni its all of the above and first Lady of France.
Ah Carla... I love that woman.
Margherita Missoni is living up to her famous name. The gorgeous Italian heiress to the Missoni house is a pure delight. She is currently studying theater in NYC along with being an ambassador for the Missoni house. I wish her all the luck and if she acts as good as she dress then we shall all be amazed.

Gogol Bordello - Gypsy Rock

After enduring the opening act for what seemed hours. By the way we still don;t know who the bloody hell they were.
The gypsy punks finally took the stage after escaping the mash pit just in time. We found refuge on the second floor of The Metropolis. The smell and look of the people up there was more up to my standards. The bad was all i expected and more. I have rarely seen anyone give such a energetic and powerful show. They owned the stage! Not since Mick Jagger have i seen a front man "Eugene Hutz" move dance, sing, play guitar and dominate the stage. in other words pure magic !!!!!!!!
Their new album drops April 27, 2010. For those whom don;t know them here are some of my fav.

-Pala Tute
-Harem In Tuscany
-Santa Marinella
-Madonna featuring Gogol Bordello @ Live Earth - La Isla Bonita/Pala Tute
-Wonderlust King

Hydro Quebec Brought To You By Cellulite

I’m years behind on some stuff and I know it but some things just don’t interest me until I’m ready for them.
I had never seen Super Size. I wasn’t ready to pay $ to see that kind of thing. But the other day it was on TV, and it raised so many questions on people’s diet and why they decided to eat nasty fast food and processed foods.
Anyhow...
After discussing the documentary with a friend he was telling how we should take over weight people and put them into rehab. It would be much better for the countries health system to do something about fat people than help druggies get better. Fast food is a drug in its own way. The fat makes you feel good until you crave more.
It is an addiction to eat junk. More $ is spent to promote junk than the GDP of some small countries.
Meanwhile people don’t realize that eating that junk will cause you health problems and clog up our medical system. Which the day I’ll need to use it, will be impossible for me to do so. So why should I pay tax $ for something I wont be able to use properly???
A sheriff in south west USA is now making his inmates pedal in jail if they want to watch TV. The TV will work as long as you keep pedaling! He thinks procedures like these will keep criminal from committing crimes in his jurisdiction. Smart men and good way to save of energy.

The Quebec provincial government is raising taxes and augmenting the cost of several public services. Well I think we should put fat people on bikes and make them pedal for energy. Hydro Quebec brought to you by cellulite!

Sounds crazy but I’m really appalled at the level of laziness and the societty we live in.

Active Wear In The Work Place

From workout to work place. What's with this new trend that's invading Montreal from the USA and Western Canada??
"New styles help woman transition to the office without breaking a sweat. Converting your early morning yoga gear to daylong office wear."
'Chicago Tribune, Sunday Jan 21, 2010'

Are you kidding me ????? Am I dreaming?? Are people so lazy that they can't dress appropriately for work??? Yoga wear at work? Not sure what kind of yoga the author does but when i do yoga i sweat! I wouldn't wear those clothes out the studio nor would i be caught in my yoga wear at work.
Unless you;re a yoga teacher how is that appropriate? If you;re too lazy to change after you exercise then just stay home. Please don't stink up the world around you.
There is a place for active wear and it doe not belong at the office.
What ever happen to looking the part??? Does no one wear pants anymore?? When did jeans become acceptable working in an office?
Lesson #1 active wear is for sports. Sports wear is what casual should be called. Sports wear as nothing to do with today's sports. Sports wear is Prince of Whales, herringbone, tweeds ect.. Casual is stay home no one needs to look at you dressed that way. Jeans with a t-shirt and some sloppy dirty clunky shoes with is not casual. Oh and by the way khakis are not dress pants!
Jogging pants should not exists all together how can people wear those in public.

Santa Mariah

Like pilgrimage to a holy sanctuary. This is how I can describe seeing Mariah in concert. Like any pilgrimage and religious experience one must suffer, and we did! Mariah dropped from the ceiling in a ball gown with almost 2 hours tardiness. She apologized and explained that she had spent the night recording a cover of “Everybody Hurts” for Haiti. It’s a good cause so she is forgiven.
Her voice has never been better. She belted out a variety of her hits. It’s hard to sing them all; after all she does have more #1s than The Beatles and Elvis.
Overall I hope for a religious experienced and she delivered!

The Apology

There is nothing like a faker apology – except, maybe, an insincere one.
You may not think you did anything wrong, but you do sincerely want to clear the air
and be the bigger person. Considering the circumstances it’s acceptable.

It does seem to me that people are sorry way too often. No one takes responsibility for their actions. They do something stupid or wrong and expect all consequences to disappear because they are sorry. There are also the ones who are sorry all the time, sorry about this, sorry about that, sorry, sorry, sorry….
If you’re apologizing that often don’t you think there’s a problem???
By apologizing that often, have you not realized that you’re no longer sincere??
I find these apologies worthless and insulting, because you know the person isn’t sorry and that in 5 min he or she will do something similar again.
If you say you’re sorry and really mean it, one would think you’d try really hard not to repeat what ever it is you were sorry about.
Apologizing does not mean all is well that ends well either. Why is it that some people apologize and expect to be forgiven instantly?? The fact that you are apologizing is showing remorse, it does not constitute forgiveness.
If you did something wrong pay your dues!
Sorry, does not erase your actions.

Resolution Assessment

Sunday January 24th 2010

24 days have gone by since the New Year landed. 24 days since we made our resolutions. Did 3 weeks pass by and already we have gone back to old habits. Forgotten the bloody resolutions already??? Old habits die hard!
This year I will not surrender so easily. I made such great progress last year and I need to push on.
Self control contributes to not only physical health but mental health as well.
What ever work we attempt cannot be perfectly done unless our minds are tranquil and calm; happiness cannot be attained from it. For one who is without peace, where is the happiness? Its all about will power isn’t it. Its no fun it hurts, I’m lazy, it’s cold, it looks good, and I’m hungry…. All the excuses are good
In the same way as, with courage and enterprise, a trainer catches hold of a wild dangerous animal, and slowly tames and finally brings it under control, so too will your will power.
Will power must be cultivated. One must not give in and must work hard to achieve what he wants. For hard work will be compensated with victory and strength.
You should not listen to nor become discouraged by, words of those who are ignorant and too lethargic to bring their bodies and mind under control and fulfill their dreams.

Take a look at your resolution and see why you aren’t doing better or why you stopped, why you didn’t even try.
Ask yourself why you made those resolutions to begin with?? If you wanted to change something doesn’t that mean you aren’t comfortable with that aspect of your life??
For one who is without peace, where is the happiness?

New Year Resolutions

Happy New Years !!!

I hope you all had a nice holiday season. May 2010 bring you all health & prosperity.
The new year is always a good time for resolutions, which last about 2 weeks and then its back to normal. We find our selves making the same resolution year after year.
I've made my usual list of 10 things i want to improve on and things i didn't get around to do in the previous year.
Last year was my first try at resolution. I found that you are better making resolution for 6 months and then revise them. This gives you chance to review and amend some of your resolutions.

Writing your resolutions down is very helpful. Write them and post them in several places where you will see them often. This will remind you of your resolutions and keep you going. It will be hard work. But think to your self, "Do your addictions control you or do you control your addictions"??
Write that down also, so you can see it and remind your self of your goals.

To my good friend Roberto, whom is undertaking a major resolution, I'm wishing him all the best in his quest. I will be there to support, encourage and help whenever you need !!! You're off to a good start keep working hard, i know you can do it.

If you have any resolution you would like to share, comments, or tricks to achieve our goals it would be great to hear them.
